New Year's Intentions
Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:31AM I (Gina) found myself nodding my head in agreement when reading a recent email from Grace Judson, of Svaha Concepts, in which she prefers to set intentions for the new year, rather than resolutions.
Intentions, as she describes, "...grab you by the throat, that give you goosebumps, that speak from what’s deepest within you. Intentions that impact every aspect of your life, from your business to your family, from your finances to your exercise routine.
When you’re willing to go deep and allow an intention to come from that wordless, instinctive, inspired place within you, then you’ll have something powerful. You’ll have something that will ring through your being, naturally informing everything that you do — and more importantly, everything that you are."
Can you feel the power of that?
The difference being that mindfully-set intentions, come through the heart. They resonate with Who You Are, carry a positive vibration (rather than the guilty "shoulds" that resolutions often hold), and as such, bring a momentum of their own that carries you, instead of presenting an obstacle to push against.
Intentions bring your desired way of being into your center, rather than holding it outside of yourself as a goal to be reached.
I'll be posting some more items about intentions as 2009 wraps up. I invite you to meditate on your own for 2010, and if you like, share them in the comments section below.
